Marcie Lacy, RMHCI
My experience working in the therapeutic process has revealed to me that when we invest ourselves in developing a relationship with people, true healing begins. I have been working in the therapeutic field for over 19 years with both children and adults. I began my therapeutic work with substance abuse related issues and then moved to working with at-risk children in the foster care system. In recent years, I have therapeutically worked in a psychiatric hospital for children and as an online therapist for all ages.
I believe in meeting individuals where they are in life and walking along side of them to help develop understanding of issues they face and to improve the quality of their lives. I provide a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where encouragement and validation are paramount aspect of the process. I believe we are connected by our thoughts, feelings and behaviors and gaining awareness of how these three aspects interconnect, helps each of us to understand ourselves better.
I am proficient in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles, Schema Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Dialectic and Exposure Therapies. I can also help parents improve relationships with their children through Positive Parenting techniques. I work with trauma related issues, anger management, anxiety and depression issues, borderline personality disorders, domestic violence and substance abuse related issues.
I welcome all clients to come and to develop a relationship that is productive to positive change and well-being.
