Cody Mildebrandt, LMHCA
Hello! I’m a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA) based in Spokane, Washington, offering both in-person and telehealth sessions to meet your needs.
I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University and hold a bachelor’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from Eastern Washington University.
In therapy, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client. My primary modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also incorporate elements of psychodynamic therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) when helpful. Underlying all of my work is a person-centered foundation—I strive to meet each client with empathy, authenticity, and respect.
Clients often describe me as an attentive listener—empathetic, compassionate, and open-minded. My goal is to create a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely, without fear of criticism or judgment. I believe that safety and trust are the foundation for real therapeutic progress.
I work with adults, teens, and children and have experience supporting clients through anxiety, trauma, life transitions, parenting challenges, family system dynamics, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I also work with depression, though I believe a collaborative approach—often involving a physician—is important when exploring possible physical or psychological contributing factors.
Mental health challenges can be deeply distressing—but healing and growth are possible. There is real hope, and there are proven therapies that can help you move forward. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to work with you. Feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation.
