Angella Rice, MSW
Hello! My name is Angella Rice and I am a compassionate, open-minded Mental Health Professional and a Licensed Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing mental health services to adverse populations since 2013 in the form of individual, family and group therapies in a variety of settings. As a clinician, I embrace a strengths-based, client-centered, and trauma informed perspective, and I borrow from many different theory bases for psychotherapy in aiming to understand and meet the individual needs of each person factoring in the biological, social, psychological and spiritual aspects of each person’s life and history.
These theories include trauma informed, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, reality-based, mindfulness-based and family systems theories. Techniques that I utilize may include psycho education, exposure, relaxation, desensitization and reprocessing, crisis management, reframing of negative thoughts, positive decision-making, strategies for managing difficult behaviors, interpersonal effectiveness skills, role-play, mindfulness, practicing self-compassion and writing/art exercises. We will work together to establish realistic and attainable goals for you to achieve. These goals are flexible, and we may modify them throughout the therapy process as your needs change. Active participation in and out of session is essential to your success. I will often assign tasks between appointments to help strengthen the skills you acquire during therapy and empower you to resolve issues after the therapeutic relationship has ended.
I Graduated from Washington State University Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, human development and sociology in 2010. Graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Eastern Washington University in 2012. I have been providing Mental Health Therapy to children, adults, families, couples and groups since 2013. I am trained in numerous evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I enjoy spending time with my family, enjoying and spending time outdoors (Hiking, camping, walking), reading, physical fitness and family karaoke nights. I would love to work with you on meeting your mental wellness goals so that you can get the most out of your life!
